Since nix flakes have this unique feature called a developer shell I have built out a system of not installing any of the compilers, runners and whatever not to my pc but rather I just create a flake which I include the necessary tools to develop an application. This insures that everyone else working on the same project will have the same version of nodejs for example. Let’s take an example for rust, I have included the RUST_SRC_PATH and LIBCLANG_PATH which rust-analyzer searches for on start up in neovim and vscodium if it’s installRustc = false and installCargo = false; (neovim in particular) #.
