Yela A multi-staged project, RE:VISIONS was created in response to Daniel’s original art installation The 3 Doors/The 3 Dense Planes, an immersive sound and video work that explores themes of spirit, nature as medicine, and journeys through non-ordinary reality. The installation’s evocative soundscapes inspired several musical artists to contribute their voices, giving rise to the collaborative project RE:VISIONS. Produced and arranged by Alex Asher Daniel, RE:VISIONS is a 10-track collection that features guest vocals from noted artists Emily Kokal of Warpaint, Del The Funky Homosapien, and Leo Wyndham from Palace. The album also includes the soulfully introspective “Destiny Divine” featuring Doris Pearson of the famed Pop/R&B group Five Star, “Incarnation” featuring legendary rapper Pep Love, and the hypnotic track “Final Form” featuring the acclaimed singer-songwriter Breymer. Originally conceived and exhibited as a sound and video installation titled The 3 Doors /The 3 Dense Planes, the work explored the ancient practice of spiritual journeying through a modern, neurological lens. Fascinated by salutogenic design and drawing on isochronic tones, binaural beats, and healing frequencies, Daniel crafted immersive sonic environments that served as tools for altered states of consciousness. An art installation that is part meditation chamber, part audio experiment. But when Daniel shared the original soundscapes with collaborators in his circle of musicians from the worlds of Indie Rock, Folk, and Hip-Hop, something unexpected happened. Inspired by the immersive depth of the soundscapes, an eclectic cohort of vocalists began layering voice and lyric onto tracks reworked by the artist himself. The result is Re:Visions, an album that reimagines the healing frequencies of the original work into lush, vocal-rich soundscapes that feel both ancient and fully present.
