We implement the international human security programme of the Heinrich Böll Foundation with focus on the Global South. | At the Global Unit for Human Security, we are dedicated to promoting human-centric and comprehensive approaches to security, emphasising the protection and well-being of individuals and communities alongside traditional state-centric models. By integrating concepts such as feminist foreign policy and climate security, the Unit contributes to shaping a ‘green’ and justice-oriented security paradigm. Through pluralistic and inclusive debates on security, we aim to address the root causes of conflicts and the lived experiences of insecurity, shifting human security from a theoretical concept to an actionable policy framework.
