Iterators are significantly faster in Arrow v4 compared with v3 because of https://github.com/apache/arrow/pull/9962. The main insight is that iterators are faster than generators in most cases and browsers. In Chrome 91, I see more than 2X improvements. Once browsers are better at supporting generators, we can undo the patch linked above.
