Audio Visual Services Collection

, In 2012 Camosun College Audiovisual Services produced a collection of 3,900 digital photographic images. The compilation includes scanned photographs and negatives, and approximately three dozen digitized items of ephemera. Ten years later, in February 2022, Audiovisual Services compiled a second collection of digital photographic images created by its employees. The images, many born digital and others originally shot on 35 mm film, were affectionately referred to as “The Archives.” Captured in colour and black and white, these materials both represent the activities and ethos of Camosun across several decades, as well as the perspectives and endeavours of Audiovisual Services. The Audio Visual Services Collection as presented in CCspace is a curated selection of unique photographs from its namesake’s greater corpus. In celebration of Camosun’s 50th anniversary in 2021, approximately 1,000 images (about 10% of the complete archive) were selected for inclusion in the digital repository. These images demonstrate cultural and historical value to the Camosun community and contribute to our understanding of the college over the years.
