Welcome to CHT’s AI Insights. I’m Randima Fernando, a co-founder of Center for Humane Technology. At CHT, I lead our AI briefings and educate members of government, corporate leaders, and the broader public on the systemic impacts of technology. My goal with these posts is to bring you a balanced perspective that draws from my own experience. I loved programming as a kid and worked at NVIDIA for 7 years, educating software developers about advanced graphics techniques and GPU architecture. I also grew up in developing countries, have run two nonprofits, and served on the first NVIDIA Foundation board. I know technology can play an important role in making life better around the globe—but only if it’s shaped by values and incentive structures that serve humanity’s best interests.
