Supporting material for The Sensitivity of the Fitch Wind Farm Parameterization to a Three-Dimensional Planetary Boundary Layer Scheme

This deposit contains simulation configurations as well as analysis notebooks used in "The Sensitivity of the Fitch Wind Farm Parameterization to a Three-Dimensional Planetary Boundary Layer Scheme" (in prep.). "NCAR-HV" refers to the NCAR 3DPBL. For convenient browsing, much of the same data has been uploaded to GitHub (https://github.com/rybchuk/wfp-3dpbl-sensitivity). runs.zip contains the configurations for the ideal simulations (namelist, input soundings, the modified surface forcing file) as well as the time-averaged data for each of the simulations. To replicate the WRF executible for the (un)stable simulations, replace WRF/phys/module_sf_sfclayrev.F with the corresponding attached file and run "./compile em_les". This zip file also contains template configurations for the real simulations (namelist, turbine specs). The real time-varying data will be available though AWS, and the description here will be updated once the data is uploaded. analysis.zip contains the Jupyter notebooks used to analyze the ideal and time-averaged real simulations. module_wind_fitch_ar.F is the Fitch Wind Farm Parameterization that has been modified to work with the NCAR 3DPBL. This module will not work "out of the box" when copy-pasted into WRF 4.3, as additional modifications are required with the NCAR 3DPBL code. The full set of Fitch modifications will be public when the NCAR 3DPBL is integrated into the public WRF code base.
