2025 Jordan Schnitzer Book Awards: Medieval and Early Modern Jewish History and Culture

The Association for Jewish Studies is pleased to announce the 2025 Jordan Schnitzer Book Awards, made possible by generous funding from Jordan Schnitzer through the Harold & Arlene Schnitzer Family Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. Launched in 2008, these awards annually recognize and promote outstanding scholarship in the field of Jewish Studies and honor scholars whose work embodies the best in the field: rigorous research, theoretical sophistication, innovative methodology, and excellent writing. AJS annually awards one winner and one finalist in each of four categories. New to 2025, each winner will receive $15,000 and each finalist will receive $5,000. The deadline to apply (confirm 2025 AJS membership, submit this form, and have your mailed books be received) is Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
