With a unique collection specific to Métis history and culture, the GDI Library provides service to GDI students as well as the wider Métis and non-Métis community. What you can find in the library: Reference collection (encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, atlases) Reserve collection (materials for use by students in a particular course) Dewey collection (fiction, literature, and non-fiction) Juvenile collection (books suitable for elementary and middle school readers) Easy collection (picture books suitable for use by young children) Curriculum collection (textbooks, teacher’s guides, and other teaching materials) Government documents collection (documents published by federal, provincial, and First Nations and Métis governments and organizations; available in Regina and Prince Albert) Audio-visual collection (kits, DVDs, records, CDs, picture sets, puppets) Periodical collection (journals and magazines of interest to historians and educators) Vertical file collection (articles, pamphlets, newspaper clippings; available in Regina) Picture file collection (archival photos and illustrations, poster-size illustrations and photos for use in schools) Rare book collection (out-of-print and rare books of historical significance; available in Regina and Saskatoon) Not recommended collection (items written for children with stereotypes, factual errors, misrepresentations, or errors of omission; not recommended for casual use without understanding the criticisms about their content) Contact us!
