How do you get Celebi in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire? - Answers

You can only get a Celebi by going to a Pokemon event, through a cheating device or the Japanese version of the Pokemon Colosseum bonus disk. Unfortunately they don't have Pokemon events for the Gameboy Advanced games anymore though some believe there is a glitch where you can randomly run into Celebi in the wild; they say it is more rare then a shiny Pokemon but this glitch has not been proven to be true or not. another way to get celibi i heard is nickname your starter Pokemon ash in emerald and it works that's what a friend says and he has one and i said id trade jirachi for it.As a note, to improve this answer, one can catch Celebi in Pokemon Saphire with out cheats. Not sure about ruby. I was with my friend, playing Sapphire and he was just grinding and lvling in the wild. We were around lvl 30 and on a relevant route to that lvl. It appears that the Celebi Pokemon does have a chance of random occurrence. whether or not its more rare than the shiny Pokemon i don't know. I came back here somehow and read through the responses above, there is NO chance of running into Celebi, rather than encountering a random glitch. There is less than a 0.01% chance that you will ever encounter this glitch, and you should not rely on it. You could search the interwebz for a private event, some people host events where they set a Pokemon to appear in a mystery-event-like event. This will not help you with Ruby/Sapphire, but at least you could get it on a 4th/5th gen game.
