How do you get Smeargle? - Answers

On Pokemon Emerald go to battle frontier, after you beat the Elite Four then go to the botom right most part of the frontier. You will find a tree that moves, use the wailmer pail on it and a Sudawooda will appear. Kill it or catch it. I suggest you catch it, then surf left till you find a cave the cave is full of Smeargles. The cave is called Artisan Cave, and the Smeargles in it are level 41 and up. You can also find a Smeargle in Diamond and Pearl at route 212 - north , it is very rare and you need to have a Pokedar to catch it. You get a Pokedar after you beat the game from Prof. Rowan. On Soul Silver you can catch one by the ruins of Alph and by going to the Safari Zone and going to the plains area there and run through the grass, it also works for heartgold. On Pokemon Crystal, it is actually very easy to find Smeargle. Go through Union Cave and use the ladder to go to another map. Once there, surf through the water to the other side and keep going until you get to the opening. Once you get outside again there will be a grassy area to the left of your screen. Just walk around until you run into a Smeargle (you can also find a Natu in this area). I suggest having a Pokemon that knows Sleep Powder and an Ultra Ball or a Master Ball, so you can catch it without wasting its Sketch move which can only be used once.
