at http://policelink.monster.com/products/products/1025-smith-wesson-model-39-2 you can find it for 1,200 dollars...at http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/admin/show_inventory.php?catID=5&subcatID=50 you can find it for 2,395 dollars and also at http://www.dallasguns.com/index.asp?type=43 for the same price and you can find it used at http://www.gunsamerica.com/901935228/Guns/Pistols/Smith-Wesson-Pistols-Autos/Alloy-Frame/Smith_Wesson_Model_39_2_9mm_Pistol_USE.htm for a great amazing spectacular price of 350$ and 25$ shippinghope this helps:)there was another question on Yahoo answers a lot like this one and this was the answer...Best Answer - Chosen by AskerWith A Ser# prefix The Model 39-2 with A ser# began production in 1971 so you have a early 1970's gun maybe 1971. The Smith & Wesson model 39-2 9m/m semi-auto wasintroduced in 1954, in the traditional double-action configuration. It had an alloy (anodized) frame, and a carbon steel slide, 8-shotmagazine, and a 4" barrel. Since the prototype model 39-1 NEVERexisted, the sequence went from the original model 39 directly tothe model 39-2. It featuered checkered walnut grips, a serrated1/8" front ramp sight, with a micrometer click adjustable rearsight for windage-only. The hammer spur usually had a smallhole drilled in it, with a smooth forestrap and a stippled backstrap. S&W is stamped on the frames right side, 9mm CTG onthe extractor port; with later production models (after A160,000) simply marked 9m/m. Weighing just 27 ozs unloaded, anwith a smooth trigger and magazine safety (which I don't like)-its my favorite of the 9m/m class. The last S&W model 39-2(S/N A747148) was shipped on Feburary 15, 1983; as regularproduction ended it 1982.Approximate value runs from a low of $175 (fair condition), toa high of 'bout $400 for "As New In Box" condition. The IllinoisState Police were the first agency to adopt the S&W model39-2, as a standard, issued sidearm for their department. Some special models of the gun can be worth thousands. The alloy frame 39-2 was made 1970-19825 months ago
