Effie Kapsalis is Senior Digital Program Officer at The Smithsonian, where she leads the digital strategy for the Smithsonian's American Women's History Initiative. She also developed and implemented a project called Smithsonian Open Access, which removed copyright restrictions from millions of images and data and made them freely available to the public.
