Thanks for this excellent analysis! One feels utterly helpless seeing this going on and on. At least we can try to understand the political dynamics at play (in all the different crises) and name and shame the perpetrators... But right now I reckon even millions of people demonstrating in the streets internationally could not stop (for instance) the Netanyahu-government from committing this mass murder in plain sight which of course is plainly devastating... When the war in Ukraine started I had this thought in my head about the end of WWII and that I wished we could be the allies who defeated Putin. It is the same with Gaza now, I wish we had an international army or alliance who could police situations like this. But we don't and we can't and most probably we will never have an institution like that... The only thing we can hope for at the current moment are these strange, continually ineffective (or even botched) attempts of relatively toothless Europeans and vainglorious Americans at half-hearted diplomacy.
