Included in this reissue compilation: Afterbirth - 'Psychopathic Embrytomy' (1994) Afterbirth - 'Rehearsal Demo' (1993) Various live tracks from Long Island & Rhode Island shows. Afterbirth's first and only official demo 'Psychopathic Embryotomy' unknowingly set the stage for what was later to be known as 'Brutal Death Metal' or 'Slam Death Metal'...At the time, Afterbirth were just a bunch of crazy kids who wanted to craft something intense and brutal, but with a touch of groove and technicality. Little did they know what they had just unleashed upon the world! Prior to the 'Psychopathic...' demo, Afterbirth recorded and distributed a rehearsal tape, which captured the band in their earliest stages of development. Still just as brutal, but with a lo-fi quality due to the recording process (a simple tape deck!), the songs recorded here can be heard in their most raw and primitive forms. This rehearsal tape set the stage for the band's later development. After close to two decades of dormancy, these long lost recordings have been unearthed once again and remixed/remastered for enhanced audio clarity for all to hear! Old school fans and new fans rejoice! Afterbirth's classic recordings are now available once again!
