Dave Waddell on Design Things by Anson Cheung

When my team switched to apple silicon, we were shocked at how good it was compared to the outgoing intel based macs we were using. Cooling fans are rarely on; when they are, they are whisper quiet. Not sure which software you are using for rendering, we use keyshot primarily and the performance has been head and shoulders above either high spec pc's or intel based macs from years prior. Another major plus is the battery life, I can work in CAD for 3+ hours on a full charge, my intel mac was less than half of that, and the big PC laptop before it was 45 minutes with fans blazing. To be clear, fusion 360 is no Solidworks , far far from it in my opinion. Was really hoping Solidworks would release something compatible with the mac.
