I have stumbled across an interesting bit of trivia. The web has no idea how long a sewing machine needle is. I have discovered that sewing machine needles come in standards, the common one being 130 / 705, but nowhere can I find out how long the needle is, the closest was the wikipedia article where it says "The length of all sewing machine needles has been standardized and does not require a separate code" No manufacturer has this information. I determined empirically that a common sewing machine needle(standard 130 / 705) is 1.5 inch (~40 MM) you will note I am unable reconcile ether 130 or 705 with 40ish mm. My problem specifically, is that I have a screw ball machine that needs 35 mm needles, needle standard DBX1 might match, but that critical measurement is never listed. The mystery of the situation surprised me enough I wanted to share it here.
