United Against Oligarchy on Charles Eisenstein

Not much energy to elaborate right now, but something in me just wants to say that i am touched by what you wrote and that i noticed for some time already how the profit motive corrupts everything. Absolutely everything... All the deleterious effects of the "speed and effenciency" that Charles mentioned (i especially feel and am impacted by how the speed and synthetic nature of car or plane travel disconnects us from the living world and can easily make us insensitive (to the destruction of the natural world, to the qualities of the environment that we wizz through) and therefore, becasue of this insensitivity, can also make us callous and cruel. It seems to me that all of this "speed and effeciency" is mainly driven by the profit motive, and by an immature economic relational system that needs to constantly "grow" and expand, isn't it? And i notice that the profit motive corrupts and destroys not only the physical world, but also encourages deceit (overt or covert) and lack of authenticity. For example, i don't feel i can truly and fully trust 99% of the commercial emails i am getting or the youtube videos i am seeing, becasue no matter what beautiful words they couch it in, eventually what they want is to make a sale (in whatever form, an actual sale or a subscription or registration etc) and so it is hard to trust that their words (includimg their "vulnerable sharings") are actually genuine or if they are just saying them in order to lead you into a sale (and yes, even so-called "authentic and vulnerable sharing" is now used as a tool/lead for a sale.. this is how deeply the profit motive corrupts everything and creates a fake/un-genuine world). And i notice that there is something in me that is in profound grief of this state of affairs. Half of me is in grief and half of me is in profound anger, or even rage, of the profound capitalist CORRUPTION of both our humanity, our trust instincts, and of the natural world, by the profit motive. It feels like a deep VIOLATION, by an insensitive unaware and immature force..
