Thank you for writing this. Like you, both my sons have aspergers/high functioning autism. Both have advanced degrees ye work jobs for no pay as interns. Neither really have friends and definitely nothing romantic. They have all kinds of therapy and support because they were lucky to be diagnosed early in life and we live in a place that at the time of their diagnose was eager to make sure they got the support they need (my understanding is that this has changed significantly). I do no know the article you were discussing. This Spiers sounds like someone looking inside with very little knowledge of what she spoke.
