Web design, application development, technology procurement, project management, technical support, and social media are just some areas of electronic and information technology that technology providers and support staff need to approach with accessibility in mind. The University of Iowa is committed to providing information technology and systems that are accessible to all users, including users with disabilities and users of assistive technologies. In support of this commitment, the University maintains an IT Accessibility Policy, along with standards and practices to support and promote accessibility.The Digital Accessibility group, known as Accessibility@IOWA, provides expert leadership, collaboration, and support for digital accessibility efforts at the University of Iowa. Housed within the ITS Information Security and Policy Office (ISPO), the group works closely with offices and individuals on the Iowa campus to offer a wide range of digital accessibility services including training, consultation, accessibility testing, and accessibility review for purchasing and procurement. Accessibility@IOWA also publishes and maintains the university’s IT Accessibility Policy and technical standards for web- and non-web technologies.
