The Ford Motor Company has lost 5 billion dollars each year for the last 2 years on their electric vehicle business. Each EV unit is losing FMC roughly $67,000.00 coming off the line. But, that is only part of the story. The division holding the company afloat is the truck division, the fossil fuel diesel and gas combustion engines division. Total FMC revenues about $7B after all accounting and again rough numbers $1B free cash after all the heavy lifting. Currently there are two sets of share holders, The A stock is owned and controlled by the descendants of Henry Ford. The B stock is a common share equity. Sooner or later Mr. Farley the current CEO, will either change course or be fired. Sound familiar? He knows more than anyone in the whole wide world of the automotive business globally. He is at the roulette table doubling down on losses, providing the casino owners with proof positive that doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity. Meanwhile other companies are turning away from the EV market, or slowing the effort down, until they can make sense of it. Now either the the current CMC and his predecessor are the smartest guys in the room and have powers beyond that of Nostradamus, or they are the definition of insanity. Sooner or later people on the armed services committee's in the House and Senate are going to start asking where the "Divest to invest" "Force Design" structure has led the Corps. When they get the answer, which is "sorry we have nothing meaningful to show for the last 6-7 years", they like share holders, will start holding people accountable. They won't vote with their feet and sell their stock, but they will demand to know what the next plan is going to be, and how soon it can be implemented. Then the MAGTF and and all it's components will be recognized, just as the truck division at Ford is now, as the cash cow that keeps the 911 needs of the USA met.
