I am only addressing a Windows operating system in this reply. Alt + Control + Del will ordinarily do one of two things known to me, dependent on your system environment. If you are on a network computer, Ctrl+Alt+Del will bring you to a Lock screen. This screen will require the current user to enter a user name and password in order to unlock the computer. If you are on a local computer (usually personal computer) a Ctrl+Alt+Del combination will bring up the Task Manager, which will display various functions relating to the current applications, processes, performance, networking and users. If the desired result of pressing this combination is to restart or lock the computer, these functions are available in the Task Manager from the menu selection 'Shut down'. If the desired result is to lock your computer without going through the Task Manager, the key combination of the Windows Logo key and the letter 'L' will quickly bring you to the computer Lock screen, mentioned earlier in this post.
