How do put integers inorder from least to greatest? - Answers

I'm making up something random but this could be your question: Put 5, -3, 0, -6, and 1 in order from least to greatest.....this would be your answer: -6, -3, 0, 1, 5......... My method is, if it's a positive number the bigger the number, the GREATER the value zero is always in the middle of negatives and positives! So with the negatives I always think, if you draw a number line like this: l---l---l---l---l and lable the numbers, the numbers closest to 0, are the numbers closer to 0 which is getting near the positives ......so I basically get the negative number and cover up the negative sign and say, ok thats a big number, then uncover the 0 and that number is MORE negative than a smaller number with the negative sign
