This post has me excited to try classic play some day. I feel that a lot of OSR fans put too much emphasis on the rules-lite and rulings-not-rules side of things and forget the emphasis on the Game. You differentiated between player/character-facing rules and world/simulation-facing rules. Do you think with the right world/simulation-facing rules, a game with minimal player/character-facing rules such as Shadowdark or Cairn can work on this grand scale?
