Are there different XBOX 360 power cords? - Answers

Yes from what I can tell there are 2 distinct power cord patterns, one with the 2 rows of 3 pins and square peg, and another with the same 2 x 3 but two slits instead. Apparently the Falcon 360s have a different one than the older 360s. But because of that, they are not compatible to each other, so new one won't fit old and old one won't fit new. Gotta love Microsoft!!! Correction...ALMOST RIGHT!!! The new one works with the old console but the old one does not work with the new console... We can assume this is because there were problems with the old power supply and they wanted to make sure you tossed it when you got a new console to avoid service calls... hope this helps. The Elite or anything newer will not work with the older 2006 versions/Basic models. The Elite has rectangle slots in the middle where as the power input on the Basic Model has a square peg in the middle, Its like putting a circle into a square slot, wont happen.
