How do you change your name on The Sims 3? - Answers

You need to select the character who's name you want to change, then go to the map, and then select city hall. One of the options for city hall is "Change Name". I've noticed this option is not always available when city hall is selected, I think it's only available during office hours which seem to start at 9:00am. I'm also not sure when the office hours close, or if the option is only available on specific days of the week. Just keep trying city hall until you see the change name option, and you will eventually see it there. Yeah that works, the time for me was 6:30 pm on Monday; try that. Thank you so much; it worked for me too. The time was monday at 9:00 pm I think the hours are between 12:00 pm and 6:30 pm. It works; I went at 1:30 pm I think if you are a baby/toddler you cant change the name so i think the parents of the child have to hold the baby then change the name. I don't know the hours that the option is available, but if the child is a newborn, toddler, or child, you need to select the mother or father of the child/toddler/newborn and then click City Hall and then Change Name... A box will appear with the parent and their child(ren). Then you select the sim and change away! :) Of course, it is added to the action queue and then your sim has to go to City Hall and blah blah blah... before the name is changed.
