Value of a ruger super blackhawk serial number 13215? - Answers

A new base model 7.5" super blackhawk in blued steel costs around 500-550 dollars. (a little less if you get a great deal,a little more if they are rare in your area.) Im no expert on the older ones but yours seems to be rather old from its serial number. Its value would depend on many things most importantly its condition. Its hard to judge but there are books that list these things. One thing that would affect its value would be if it were one of the rarer variants. I suggest you find a website that specializes is single action revolvers or in the Ruger single action revolvers and ask there. In any event, the original posters suggestion of 100-1000 dollars was a little broad. A super blackhawk would have to be in terrible condition to fetch 100 dollars and would have to be one of the rare variants to fetch a price in the range of 1000. The SBH is a gun known for its very reasonable price and being one of the strongest revolvers made in that caliber. One thing I would suggest is contacting Ruger regarding whether the gun has been upgraded. The newer guns have a transfer bar mechanism to make it safe to carry with six rounds in the chamber. The older guns can be upgraded to the new system free of charge by Ruger. To make it even better,I understand that it does not alter the gun and they return the old parts to you so that you can keep them with the gun,as a collector will want those original parts. (it would lose value if it were irreversible modified from its factory original condition)
