Part of the craft of it for me is what I get out of the process of making it, and also the usefulness of the finished object (a picture book is useful, yes? I hope!). I have written that sentence and realized that of course any artist gets something from the process (and maybe that's part of the overlap between art and craft). I got a book last month called Cræft: A Inquiry into the Origins and True Meaning of Traditional Crafts by Alexander Langlands. I haven't read it yet, but I'll let you know what I think when I do.
