There is indeed a danger of losing the network effects to popular third-party apps, but don;t forget those apps still need to rely on Audius' content network. So it's possible that the market for apps will be quite competitive and no one will be able to hold them up. And of course the upside is that it;s much more attractive to artists and third-parties to build on a credibly open network like Audius.
