since it’s been a year and a half since I wrote this article (and since you commented on it), I can only hope you end up seeing this response: I really appreciate your comment (and saw it around a year ago with the full intention to respond, but life happened). I’m glad to hear my scattered thoughts somehow struck a chord with you - I’m so happy that you a) somehow found and read this in the first place and b) that my article resonated with you and made it worth your time to read. at the end of the day, no one wants to feel like they’re alone, and it can be incredibly isolating at times when you express gender in some way that falls outside of the rigid binary framework in which most of society (myself probably included, unfortunately) defaults to thinking. because of that, it’s relieving - and almost exhilarating - to hear that there are other people out there who have experienced similar things and feel similar ways. I’m also happy to report that I feel significantly more settled and comfortable in my own skin than I did when I originally wrote this article, so it’s interesting to look back. anyway, this was an incredibly wordy way of saying thank you. I hope to get back into writing more soon, and can only hope that whatever I put out next can mean something to someone out there, the way this seemed to mean something to you. thank you for your support and encouragement, and I hope you’re doing well at the moment, wherever you might be!
