I;ve been reading about the 1960’s in our own US culture. I’m finding that people seeking power use whatever words and deeds they need to claim power. When one promises ‘peace with honor,’ a return to ‘law and order’ and assurances that everyone will be better off than they were under previous administrations, yet failed to account for human flourishing at individual, family, and community levels, the only result is more unsettledness and more disintegration of any common vision for life.
