Lunar Secrets, by Moon People

Lunar Secrets by Moon People, released 02 August 2024 1. Lunar Secrets 2. Draculas... in Space?! 3. 3001 a Space Oddity 4. Chained to the Void 5. Moon Stomp 6. Burning Up (on Re-Entry) Moon People are back with a stand alone, six song demo cassette on the heels of their self-titled 7” (which was included as part of the first press of The Hamiltones In Space LP). Instrumental surf music rarely sees broad innovations this genre-defying, but the extensive use of a Casio DG-1 to replace all electric guitar and bass parts is exactly that— a giant expansion in what can be defined as surf.  By using a guitar-shaped synthesizer, Moon People have made a fully digital, synthesized album that still retains the voicings, movements, and essence of surf while completely reshaping the textures and tones.  While The Hamiltones In Space explored the addition of new instruments to expand on their sound, Moon People utterly destroy convention, leaving their listeners with a sound akin to if Dick Dale had been programmed by Giorgio Moroder, Brian Eno, or The Human League 100 copies on cassette, 10 copies on microcassette
