Onna Sendou Uta 🗻 SOUND FUJI album! 🎸 Japan’s guitar hero Takeshi Terauchi reworks traditional songs and lets everything go wild with his magnificent and frenzied guitar sound. Enter the electrifying world of Eleki! High quality download available for the first time. - Artist: Takeshi Terauchi & Blue Jeans - Title: Eleki Ippon Enka de Shoubu! - Label: King Records - Original release year: 1970 - Original catalog number: SKD 32 Among the recordings Terauchi and the Blue Jeans released, Eleki Ippon Enka De Shobu, in 1970, is one of the most striking. As its title indicates, it consists of covers of Enka songs in Eleki style, many of them linked to cinema. The magnificent cover, where Terauchi and his musicians appear in poses and outfits linked to the mafia, sets the tone superbly well. “Abashiri Bangaichi”, the main title of the hugely popular Abashiri Prison film series which boasts not less than 18 episodes (not always connected though), and “Amefuru Machikado”, a song by Hachiro Kasuga originally released in 1953, are both taken from that album. Terauchi was a man of music but he was also very receptive to the power of images and especially of cinema, like his earlier Screen Mood on the Rock album already proved. Not to forget that his own father was involved with a cinema in their own town. Surprise, although his voice is not to be found on that record, Rui Takahashi appears on the cover of the album, wearing a more traditional kimono but still with his dark glasses on. Leader, Guitar – Takeshi Terauchi Bass Guitar – Shirō Ishibashi Drums – Joe Mizuki Electric Organ – Yutaka Yamane 2nd Guitar – Mikio Aida Rhythm Guitar – Yukio Shimura Get the Eleki Bushi 1966-1974 vinyl compilation in all good record stores worldwide and at https://180g-takeshiterauchi.bandcamp.com/album/eleki-bushi-1966-1974 Enjoy! — SOUND FUJI explores King Records' legendary catalog and unearths exceptional, rare and unknown musical gems from Japan.
